Valgame mi vihuela

If you search for "vihuela" you might get the impression that it is an ancient instrument, not to be found today except in museums.  But the vihuela is very much alive in Mariachi bands, with roots dating back several hundred years.  This one lost its head in a simple accident but was back in play in a couple of weeks.  By the way, look closely and you'll notice that the frets are the traditional wound material (OK, so it's nylon), rather than what many of us think of today as being metal frets.
