Tornado Victim Rescue

Picture
I've admired the work of the Red Cross and  others as they respond to Oklahoma tornadoes and have always thought it  would be good to help out. I finally got to do my fair share in the form of a round back Martin mandolin brought in by Jeff Staggs. The May 2011 tornado had bounced around his dad's mandolin and had not been gentle. This mandolin was built in 1910, so it was not a spring chicken to
begin with. It took a while, but you can see Jeff playing while his dad Tal checks out the sound after some significant restoration. Beautiful instrument and great people.
