Silk Purse from a Busted Guitar?

Picture
I don't remember exactly how the old saw goes, but some guitars will never be worth much more than the $20 this one cost a good friend of mine. She requested, and I was intrigued, to see what could be done to turn this into something other than a wall hanging. Had this been a plywood guitar I probably would have said "Hang it.", but it was made with solid woods on the top, sides and back. There was much more work done, braces especially and a different system of bracing, than is visible. It would have taken a neck reset to really get this back in great playing shape, but it came out playable and makes a nice blues type guitar.
