Vihuela
Gets A New Top
The
vihuela is a fascinating instrument, and somewhat
confusing. There is a classical vihuela you might find in
Europe and then what you might see here in Oklahoma – the
one used frequently in Mariachi music. This one has been
loved and played for years by the Mariachi Lopez, a family
representing three generations of fantastic mariachi music.
Time and a couple of accidental drops brought this one in
for a new top. Very tricky, but as you can see it turned
out well.
