Welcome to MandoAiki

Guitar and Mandolin Repair; Custom Mandolin and Guitars
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
MandoAiki combines the mandolin and the martial art of Aikido. Harmony is central to both as is the ability to work with what you have at the moment.
I’ve been enjoying music all of my life. My first introduction to guitars, mandolins and woodworking came from my father. He gave me my first introduction to both instruments and encouraged me to go beyond what he could teach, and I’ve tried to do that. He also introduced me to woodworking which gave me the foundation needed to enter the guitar and mandolin repair and construction process several years ago. I’ve learned to work with instruments from local, national and internationally known luthiers. I have also had the opportunity to learn from and to belong to the Guild of American Luthiers and Association for Stringed Instrument Artisans.
I am located in Oklahoma City and will give you the best service for your guitar repair or mandolin repair or restoration whether it is granddad’s $15 parlor guitar or a custom built mandolin. If you are interested in used guitars, mandolins and requintos; you can be sure that any I sell will be in the best condition possible for the price. The new guitars, mandolins and requintos I build are truly handmade and can be customized, unlike many instruments today made primarily by machines. The articles may be helpful as you enjoy your instrument and the links will take you only to places and people that I personally know and have worked with.
So, where does Aikido fit in? It is an art that I practice and I believe it contributes to the way I approach instruments. I don’t try to force them to be something they aren’t, but try to find a way to work with them to make them as good as possible. There’s a lot more to it, but that’s enough for here.
