Perry Mason Missed This Case

Repairing cases is, at times, a matter of necessity.  This case came with a vintage tenor banjo and had been very mistreated (where was Perry when he was needed?)  Had the instrument not been vintage it would have made sense to buy a new case and leave this one for the trash man.  The before photos are actually after I had done some work on it – I was afraid it was going to crumble.  I’m not sure what caused the damage, though someone had installed a new tailpiece that was actually cutting into what was left of the tail of the case – this had to be fixed on the instrument.  You can see in the after pictures that the effort was to repair, but keep the old look.  With a little Oklahoma dust thrown in the newer pieces should age well.  If anyone has some green felt liner you can see that I need a small piece for the inside.  Thanks.
